Michigan Area Disaster Response, in partnership with United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), is offering Early Response Team (ERT) training in West Michigan. Early Response Teams fill a specific need in the early days after a disaster, and establish the presence of the church. The purpose of an ERT is to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of disasters.
Who should attend from the local church? Anyone (lay or clergy) who is interested in being part of an ERT. If you are interested in bringing this training event to your church, please contact Jeremy Wicks, UMCOR-Authorized Trainer (contact information below).
All ERT members representing our conference must be trained and certified by an Authorized UMCOR-ERT Trainer.
Due to recent changes in federal regulations, only those trained by credentialed and authorized training organizations will be allowed to assist on scene, in disaster response. To participate in this amazing service opportunity, or to learn more about the United Methodist response to domestic disasters, consider attending one of the training sessions below:
