Well-known evangelical leaders on board for 2011 Michigan Area School for Pastoral Ministry

Save these dates for Pastors' School: August 16-18, 2011 in East Lansing.

Through innovative ideas, proven practices, and fantastic fellowship, Michigan United Methodist ministers have a unique opportunity to renew their ability to proclaim God’s Good News in Christ with their lives and ministries.

This conference is for all those who desire to reconnect with God and clergy colleagues, as they learn how to increase their relevance with the people in their ministry settings.

This year's Michigan Area School for Pastoral Ministry (Aug. 16-18) features renowned author, speaker and pastor Brian D. McLaren and Allen Dwight Callahan — both leaders and writers in the areas of Christian tradition, comparative theology, church innovation, and Biblical studies, among others.

McLaren was recognized as one of Time magazine's "25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America who refers to himself as a "paradigm shifter and pastor.”

Callahan is a highly-respected New Testament scholar, professor, preacher and a writer for Religion and Ethics Weekly.

In its second year at the KelloggCenter on the campus of MichiganStateUniversity in East Lansing, the MASPM has intentionally placed high-quality continuing education in a natural setting conducive to renewal and restoration.

MASPM leadership hopes that all participants will find the walking trail, screened porches, babbling brook and outdoor patios superb for meaningful devotion and collegial fellowship.

Watch for more information on your conference web site.

In the meantime, check out this video about McLaren's latest book: Everything Must Change.
